About Golden Jubilee Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation
Guru Nanak Dev University has setup a “Golden Jubilee Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation” (GJCEI) under Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA-II). The centre aims developing an ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship. It will catalyse a strong partnership with industry and other organizations at national and global level for cross-fertilization of ideas, enhancement of entrepreneurial skills and fostering career development among youths.
Meet Our Coordinator
Prof. Balwinder Singh
Prof. Balwinder Singh, a senior faculty member of the university with more than 30 years of teaching and research experience to his credit, is the coordinator of the Golden Jubilee Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (GJCEI). An astute and seasoned academician with unparalleled research contributions in his field, he has a knack for creating a congenial, tech-based, vibrant ecosystem for entrepreneurship rooted in the Indian values, enviable culture, diverse talent, and unbeatable diligence, perseverance, and intelligence of the populace. His experience as a NAAC assessor, NBA creditor, and experience in the fundamentals of finance and econometrics lend him the vision and intent to nurture GJCEI as a prolific ground for entrepreneurs and innovators, not just in the region but pan-India and globally.

Infrastructure at GJCEI Incubation Centre
The GJCEI, or “Infinity,” is a cutting-edge facility that supports entrepreneurs and innovators. It provides a collaborative ecosystem with advanced technology, dedicated workspaces, and specialized labs, fostering growth and creativity for students, startups, and industry professionals.
The Startup Cell serves as the heart of GJCEI’s entrepreneurial support system, offering guidance and resources to new startups. This cell provides one-on-one mentorship, funding opportunities, and networking connections, enabling startups to navigate the early stages of their business journey. The Startup Cell facilitates events, workshops, and networking sessions to foster a supportive community, ensuring that startups have the resources and knowledge they need to scale successfully.
The Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell is dedicated to protecting and managing the intellectual property assets of GJCEI’s entrepreneurs and innovators. This cell provides guidance on patents, trademarks, copyrights, and other forms of IP to help startups secure their innovations. Through workshops and expert consultations, the IPR Cell ensures that innovative ideas are legally protected, safeguarding the commercial value of each creation.
Skill Lab 1 and Skill Lab 2 are specialized facilities designed to equip students and entrepreneurs with hands-on experience in various technical and practical skills. Each lab features advanced equipment and software, enabling users to develop skills in areas such as prototyping, digital fabrication, and electronics. These labs host training sessions, practical workshops, and skill-development programs, fostering an environment of learning and innovation that aligns with industry demands.
The Coworking Space at GJCEI offers a collaborative environment tailored for startups, freelancers, and small businesses. Designed to accommodate up to 40 entrepreneurs, this space encourages collaboration and knowledge-sharing among peers. The flexible workspace is equipped with modern amenities, including high-speed internet, ergonomic seating, and dedicated meeting rooms, making it an ideal space for startups to grow and network.
